"Everything I know, I learned from dogs." - Nora Roberts
Liz chats with ASPCA Kid of the Year and Little Big Shot Roman McConn. Despite being only 8 years old, Roman is already dedicated to making a difference in the world, for dogs and people who love and care for dogs. Working with his mom Jennifer and their organization Project Freedom Ride, Roman and the team of rescues they work with have so far saved the lives and found loving homes for over 3,000 dogs at risk of being euthanized. Join Liz and Roman talk about ways everyone can help keep dogs in homes instead of animal shelters, and witness how Liz intuitively talks to Roman's dog Ru, and amazes Roman with a special message.
In Liz Murdoch's sessions as a dog communicator, it frequently comes up in her conversations with the dogs that many do want to go back to dog school and some have even asked for help learning how to walk on a leash, or at least get better at getting along with other people or dogs. In conversation with professional dog trainer Irith Bloom of The Sophisticated Dog, Liz and Irith discuss basics and benefits of online private dog training and why dog training can be a special event for a dog. Also, it turns out dog training sessions are often more successful when the dog's people have to do all the hands on training and are coached by a trainer guiding them remotely. Liz and Irith also discuss the importance of consistency, different kinds of walks for a dog, and even why it can be important to let a dog enjoy a good sniff! So much important information in this episode, tune in and learn more about dog talking and why it can be good to listen to your dog and go back to school, no matter how old you or your dog is!
Dog Communicator Liz Murdoch connects with Walker, a rescued and rehabilitated beagle who spent the first two years of his life living in a medical laboratory as a research subject. Once considered one of the most traumatized animals Beagle Freedom Project has ever worked with, Walker is now cuddly, social and a very loving dog enjoying freedom to be loved.
